Dr. Johannes Raabe arrived at West Virginia University in the fall of 2019 after two years as a faculty member at Penn State Altoona. Raabe earned his Ph.D. in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior at the University of Tennessee, his master’s degree (M.S.) from the University of Wyoming and his bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz in Germany. Upon completion of his Ph.D., he spent a year in a postdoctoral research and teaching position at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in Germany. In this role, he was part of the scientific support team for the German Soccer Association’s (Deutscher Fußball-Bund) talent identification and development program. 

Raabe is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and listed on the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee Sport Psychology Registry.
